Sherry Lewis
Sherry Elizabeth Lewis is a true entrepreneur! With over 25 years in the business, this Indianapolis native’s roots run deep in her craft. As a proud graduate of Arlington High School, she began working in custom floral & event decorations by opening up Sherry’s Custom Designs in 1998. In 2009, Sherry earned her degree in Floral Design from Penn Foster.
Sherry is the fortunate recipient of the knowledge and expertise of some of the legendary pioneers of floral design in our community and culture. Having been taught, tutored & nurtured by Indy’s own, the late Mrs. Joyce Summers, owner of the iconic Lucille’s House of Flowers, her natural talent, eye for detail, and creative vision began to emerge. Many of the city’s Funeral firms began to take notice. Working side by side with Mrs. Summers at Evergreen Florist, she was like a sponge, soaking up everything she could from a master craftswoman!
After the death of Mrs. Summers, the opportunity presented itself for her to spread her wings again. She became the owner of Sherry’s Flowers, LLC. Shortly before the pandemic, Sherry was blessed to partner with another local legend, Mrs. Janice Mays, owner of J Mays House of Flowers. Together, their combined experience spanned over 40 years! Through this partnership & collaboration, thousands of families were blessed by the fabulous arrangements, the personal touch, and the ability to have a beautiful memory of their loved ones because of the amazing creations provided by Mrs. Mays & Sherry.
With the retirement of Mrs. Mays, Sherry has now decided to open a shop that not only will serve Funeral Firms, Families and Familiar Faces with that same level of high quality, professionalism, compassion, and that personal touch, but also as an ode and homage to those ladies who have paved the way and have passed their torch to her. Like those who came before her, Sherry feels that this is her ministry and her mission to provide a beautiful tribute and a lasting memory for families who are grieving. “Our Flowers Whisper What Words Cannot Say.”
